Scandic Trans was named Company of the Year this weekend when the regional organisation Kust-Österbottens Företagare honoured outstanding entrepreneurs at its annual members' event at Norrvalla in Vörå.
It is happening at the head office in Korsholm, outside Vasa. Scandic Trans will be able to serve the region’s companies even better in future thanks to the redevelopment of the property a stone’s throw from National Highway 8. The three-phase construction project includes the construction of loading bays and warehouses for terminal operations, expansion of the office spaces and actions relating to energy and the environment.
Modern sustainable office space adjacent to warehouse and terminal to be built in Korsholm.
In October 2023, the EU revised the CO2 standards for new heavy-duty vehicles and the emission reduction requirements for 2030 were raised from 30% to 45%. By 2040, emissions for new trucks must be reduced by 90 per cent of 2019 levels. This means that, in the long term, emission-free transport will no longer be just a competitive factor; it will also be a prerequisite for winning procurements and doing business. Scandic Trans thus continues to focus on and take the lead on the green transition in the industry in Finland.
Nothing is constant – the world changes, all the time, whether we like it or not. Change is, or at least should be, an integrated part of our everyday life – a completely obvious normality. Those of us who do not move and develop will lose – or at least will not win.
At present Scandic Trans has its own terminals in Vantaa and Turku and can offer flexible and smooth services both in the capital and Turku regions. At both terminals, which have excellent logistical locations next to Ring III in Vantaa and at the Port of Turku, it is possible to store temperate goods, i.e. food in all forms as well, as ordinary commercial goods, and we serve customers with everything from single pallets to thousands of them.
